Owny — Privacy Policy

Owny ("we", "the app") helps you learn languages with your own flashcards. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address (from Sign in with Apple or Google) and the name you enter.
• Your content: vocabularies and words you create.
• Learning data: review results and scheduling parameters, so the app knows when to show each word again.

How we use it

Your data is used only to run the app: syncing your vocabularies across sessions, scheduling reviews, and enabling vocabulary sharing. When you share a vocabulary, its subscribers see its name and words, and the vocabulary owner sees your name and per-word learning progress. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with our hosting provider Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany) and protected by row-level access controls: only you — and, for shared vocabularies, their participants — can access your data.

Your controls

• Delete all learning progress: Settings → Danger zone → Delete all my progress.
• Delete your account and all data permanently: Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. This removes your account, vocabularies, words, and progress immediately and irreversibly.
• Stop sharing: delete a share code or a vocabulary at any time.
